Dashboard V2 Is Live: 10 New Features for CS2 Skin Portfolio Tracking
Something stands out in our platform data: of all the users who have connected their Steam account to CS Gain, only 3% have entered their buy prices.
That number tells a story. Most people connect their account, see their inventory value light up, and stop there. The dashboard was always supposed to go further — to answer questions like what should I sell right now, how has my portfolio changed this week, and how far am I from a meaningful goal? Those answers require buy prices. Without them, half the dashboard is dark.
Dashboard V2 ships ten new features and fixes the visibility problem. Here's everything that changed.
Market-Reactive Portfolio Cards
The Portfolio Value and Total P&L KPI cards now update in real time when you switch between market pills. Click Steam — both cards instantly recalculate using Steam Market prices, including your P&L against your cost basis. Click Buff163 to switch back. The 24h and 7d delta badges update too, pulling from portfolio history for whichever market you're viewing.
This matters because Buff163 and Steam prices diverge meaningfully on many skins. The spread between them is where arbitrage opportunities live. Seeing both reflected in your KPI cards — without navigating away — makes that comparison immediate.
Daily P&L Chart Mode
The chart header now has a Value / Daily P&L toggle. Switch to Daily P&L to see a bar chart of day-over-day portfolio change — green bars for up days, red for down. This makes it easy to see whether your portfolio is moving with the broader CS2 market or behaving independently. No extra API calls: the chart is built entirely from your existing price snapshot history.
Portfolio Heat Map
A new Analytics tab renders your inventory as a heat map. Each item appears as a tile — sized by its weight in your portfolio, colored by ROI. Deep green means strong returns; deep red means a position that's underwater. Below the map: an ROI distribution chart showing your spread of performers, and a hold-time breakdown segmenting positions by how long you've been sitting on them.
The heat map is the fastest way to identify which part of your portfolio is carrying you and which part is dragging. You can't see that in a list.
Market Movers
A third widget joins the dashboard row: Market Movers. It pulls the top 5 gainers and losers from the past 24 hours across all items tracked by Buff163 price snapshots on the platform. Gainers and Losers tabs. Useful for spotting price movement in items you might want to add to your watchlist, even if you don't own them yet.
Goal Tracking
Set portfolio value goals with a label, target value, and an optional deadline. Each goal shows a progress bar — your current portfolio value as a percentage of the target. Add multiple goals and delete them when achieved. Simple, but effective for staying oriented toward a specific number: $5K, $10K, $50K — whatever milestone you're working toward.
Trade Analytics Bar
If you've logged trades in the Trade Log tab, a compact stats bar now appears above your KPI cards on the Overview: realized P&L, win rate, total trades logged, and your best single trade. It loads silently in the background on every dashboard open — no waiting, no click required.
Auto-Refresh
A 5-minute countdown in the nav bar shows when the dashboard will refresh automatically. Click it at any time to trigger an immediate manual refresh without reloading the page. The countdown resets after each refresh.
Why the 3% Number Matters
If you're reading this and haven't entered your buy prices, you're using about half of what CS Gain can do for you. The market-reactive P&L cards, the heat map colors, the Best Sell Candidates ranking, the goal progress bars — all of it depends on buy prices to be meaningful.
It takes less than five minutes to log prices for your main holdings. You don't need to track every item — just the positions you actually care about. The platform handles the rest.
The dashboard is at csgain.com. Log in with your Steam account and open the Dashboard tab. If you've been using CS Gain as a read-only inventory viewer, V2 is the reason to go deeper.
